The STIHL BTA 140 is a professional one-person battery earth auger with an EC motor, three working modes and QuickStop safety. Powerhead only, so no battery, charger or auger bit is included.
Description
The STIHL BTA 140 is a battery earth auger for professionals in horticulture, landscaping, forestry, agriculture and construction. STIHL suggests it for installing posts, digging planting holes, making drainage shafts and preparing small to medium foundations. An EC motor makes 1.7kW with low vibration and little maintenance, and the balanced design with a drilling axis close to your body gives better control and less fatigue. STIHL describes it as quiet enough for comfortable use in many environments.
This is the powerhead only. STIHL supplies the BTA 140 without auger attachments, battery or charger, so those are sold separately, and you can ask us which auger bits suit your holes. STIHL recommends the AP 300.0 P battery. Three working modes suit different ground: Slow for controlled, low-kickback drilling, Fast for tougher ground, and Reverse to free a jammed auger. The mode is selected on the handle and shown on the screen, and the STIHL QuickStop system stops the auger automatically if it detects twisting.
