The STIHL MS 400 C-M is a professional petrol chainsaw for forestry work. Its 66.8cc 2-MIX engine makes 4kW, and a lightweight magnesium piston developed by STIHL keeps the powerhead at 5.7kg, giving a power-to-weight ratio of 1.45kg/kW. STIHL pitches it at felling, delimbing and working up timber in medium-density forests.
M-Tronic electronic engine management adjusts ignition timing and fuel metering to the conditions, and this version also allows the system to be calibrated.
